Metal Sculpting and the Business of Art
Bill J. Priest Institute, El Centro College

The business of art –in partnership with the DCCCD Economic Development program

The Bill J. Priest Institute for Economic Development was established in 1989 with the purpose of supporting economic development for the county.  Our programs focus on workforce training & services, small business development and more.

This program will develop curriculum for the entrepreneur/artist who is interested in the business of art.  We will develop a support program which assists emerging artists; as well as, the accomplished artist addressing the business aspects of producing, promoting, marketing and selling art.  There is a huge gap for artists between creating and selling art.   For artists who create fine art, there is a well-defined, necessary gap.  Unfortunately, most artists are not professionally represented and must attend to their own business needs.  This course will utilize the resources of DCCCD and cultivate a support network of stakeholders to help the creative entrepreneurs succeed.
